Spanish Space Themed Large Modular Slide Outdoor Play Equipment

Not a Rocket. A Shuttle.

The design team did not build a generic spaceship. They built a space shuttle—the kind that lands on runways, not just launches. Blue, light gray, and black dominate the color scheme. Top features include flying saucer-shaped canopies and space radar details. The entire set belongs to the space shuttle series of outdoor children's play facilities, suitable for children aged 3-12.

Two Slides, Two Speeds

A straight open slide sits on one side. The slope is gentle—safe for younger children who are still building confidence. A steel staircase in the middle provides access to the play platform, not a climb. Children who are not ready for nets can still reach the top.

On the opposite side, a striped spiral enclosed barrel slide offers a completely different experience. The pipe section uses a transparent + blue-gray spliced design. Children can see glimpses of the outside as they spin downward. The spiral shape increases speed naturally—faster than the straight slide, more thrilling. The transparent sections also let parents track their child's descent.

Platform Safety – Railings That Mean Business

The play platform sits at the top of both slides. The perimeter is protected by black reinforced steel pipe columns and perforated safety railings. The railings are not just vertical bars—perforated panels prevent children from slipping through or getting stuck. The black steel contrasts with the blue structure, making the railings visibly distinct. No hidden fall risks.

Circular Mesh Climbing Cages – Two of Them

Two large circular black safety nylon climbing nets sit at ground level, attached to the main structure. Children crawl through the nets, climb up the sides, and pop out through the top openings. The nets are made from high-strength nylon—UV-stabilized, weather-resistant. The circular shape encourages group play: multiple children can enter from different sides and meet in the middle. The nets build physical strength, balance, and coordination without feeling like exercise.

Arc-Shaped Metal Climbing Rack – A Different Kind of Grip

Next to the mesh cages, an arc-shaped metal climbing rack offers an alternative route. Paired with a curved pipe handrail climbing structure, it provides diverse climbing methods. Children can grip the curved handrails, step on the metal rungs, or swing across. The arc shape means the climb is never straight up—children move laterally as they ascend. This variety enriches play experiences and prevents the "one route, one crowd" bottleneck.

EPDM Ground – Blue and Safe

The entire ground is covered with blue eco-friendly EPDM rubber safety mats. The blue matches the structure's primary color, but the function is serious. Waterproof, slip-resistant, and capable of cushioning impacts from falls. The EPDM is seamless and permeable, so puddles do not form after rain. The impact attenuation meets EN1177 standards—children can fall without serious injury.

Why Blue, Light Gray, and Black?

Blue is the sky. Light gray is the shuttle's fuselage. Black is space. The color scheme is not random; it tells a story. Children see a shuttle that has already landed—the slides are the exit ramps, the climbing nets are the cargo bay, the platform is the cockpit. The colors also hide dirt and scuffs better than white or yellow, reducing maintenance frequency.

A Shuttle That Serves Multiple Ages

Younger children (ages 3-5) use the straight slide and the lower parts of the mesh cages. The gentle slope and open design reduce fear. Middle children (ages 6-8) tackle the spiral barrel slide and the arc-shaped climbing rack. They seek speed and variety. Older children (ages 9-12) combine all elements—climb the arc rack, run across the platform, slide down the barrel, crawl through the cages. The same structure serves three distinct age groups.

Materials That Outlast the Warranty

The frame is hot-dip galvanized steel, powder-coated in blue and light gray. The slides are 304 stainless steel or high-density polyethylene (UV-stable). The climbing nets are nylon with tensile strength tested. The EPDM ground is 30-50mm thick, depending on fall height. All materials are selected for outdoor use, with corrosion resistance and UV stability built in.
